Happy Valentine’s Day – President’s Holidays Feb 12th & 15th

New Year’s & Valentine’s Celebration

Tomorrow we will have our Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Celebration.  Tonight, have your child make Valentines for their friends.  Have them practice their cursive writing skills.  Students can also practice letter-writing formats by writing a letter to a few friends.

We are planning to have our celebration at ~1:00 pm.  Please have your child bring something yummy to share.  If you are still thinking about what to send in tomorrow, a student has already brought in chopsticks for our class to try using–so we would love to try some foods that are fun to pick up with our chopsticks.  Remind your child to wear red to school. Please join us if you can.  Gung hay fatt choy!

Google Apps for Education
I’m so excited that our district has gotten Google Apps for our students to use.  The tools available will allow students to write documents at school, that they can also access and work on at home.  The documents will allow students to collaborate on projects and give them practice to use the tools that so many other students are already using.

I’ve sent home the student permission forms.  Please read over and sign the letter and send back to school.  If you need another copy, please find the PDF by clicking here:  GAFE Permission Form

San Diego Chinese Food and Cultural Faire February 13 & 14
I’ll be performing downtown with Asian Story Theater at the San Diego Chinese Food and Cultural Faire this weekend.  It’s a free event, and lots of fun.  Wear your Chinese outfits, and come down to shop and try some food.  San Diego Chinese New Year Faire

We have put in a couple fish to start our system up.  Estreya brought in some parsley seeds.  If anyone has some basil or other herb seeds, we can start to use them now.

Things We Need:
With sniffles, we could use some kleenex and hand sanitizer donations.
